I read this book many years ago and enjoyed it. Steinbeck, a Camper, and his poodle, Charley trying to connect with America. Check out this site, run by the National Steinbeck Center:

And then, here’s something else to try. Go to Amazon.com or Powells.com and type in Travels with Charley. It will not only give you a synopsis of the book, but you will get reviews from readers. Many of the readers like to give a general summary of the book from their viewpoint as well, within their review and it can often make you look at the book in a different way. (Amazon has 185 reviews for Travels with Charley, I’m sure you can find one or two that could be helpful!)
